Brutus Brown
From Genie, Brutus's mom:
Brutus is the blessing I didn't even know I needed.
I moved to Washington from Indiana in 2019 without knowing a soul. As the years went by I became increasingly homesick, feeling isolated without family and friends nearby. The universe must have heard my whimpers — because one sunny afternoon in August it introduced me to Brutus. Albeit on busy PAC Highway, where we immediately began a game of Frogger.
The day we brought Brutus home I placed him in the backyard while getting the house ready. By the time I made it back outside, he was gone. My heart sank. I thought I had failed him before I could even really help.
Then I walked to the front of the house.
Brutus was standing in the front yard, looking through the window. Looking for me. He had every opportunity to keep running. To be free. To disappear into a world that had not been kind to him.
He didn't want that. He chose me.
I made him a promise that day — and alongside my partner Sara, I have been choosing him back every single day since. Together we turned that promise into a mission.
Brutus Brown isn't just a dog. He is a visionary, a creative soul, and the heart behind Pit Stop Pet Barkery. His resilience, his joyful spirit, and his boundless appetite for life — and treats — inspire our family every single day. The Barkery was built on his foundation, dedicated to celebrating the bond between humans and their four legged family.
When he isn't at the clinic or supervising treat production, you can find Brutus enjoying a well earned nap after a successful morning walk. 🐾
