Bailee

Bailee has been a constant source of comfort, companionship, and strength since the day she chose her person.

Originally meant to be a puppy for her owner’s sister, Bailee made her own decision—crawling out of the litter, snuggling into her owner’s neck, and falling asleep. From that moment on, they were inseparable. Bailee became an Easter gift a few weeks later, and she has been by her owner’s side ever since, through countless milestones and life changes.

When Bailee was diagnosed with lymphoma, her owner knew she wanted to do everything possible to keep Bailee comfortable, happy, and by her side for as long as possible. Lymphoma is highly responsive to chemotherapy, and pursuing treatment felt like the best path forward—not only to extend Bailee’s time, but to give her a good quality of life.

Bailee has now completed her first round of the CHOP chemotherapy protocol, with three more rounds to follow, and the results have been incredibly encouraging. As of mid-June, she is in complete remission and responding well to treatment. She’s back to her familiar self—content, comfortable, enjoying her naps, occasional walks, and squeaky toys, and showing off her signature lazy-but-playful personality.

At the same time, Bailee’s owner is beginning her fourth year of veterinary school and is currently in clinical rotations, with no opportunity to earn income and relying on student loans to get by. Managing the cost of cancer treatment during this time was overwhelming.

With support from Toby’s Hope, Bailee was able to receive the care she needed without her owner having to choose between financial stability and her dog’s well-being. The relief of seeing Bailee comfortable and thriving again has been profound.

Bailee has always been there during moments of stress, uncertainty, and growth—and now, thanks to community support, her owner has been able to show up for her in the same way. Both are deeply grateful for the chance to focus on healing, comfort, and more time together.
