Mark your calendars, Tacoma — Halloween is going to the dogs this year! Join us for Hocus Pocus at the Park, a spook-tacular afternoon of tail-wagging fun benefiting Toby’s Hope.
Grab your leash, dust off last year’s costume (or dream up a brand-new one), and bring the whole family — kids, dogs, and all — for a howling good time at Wapato Park.
What’s Happening
📅 Saturday, October 31, 2026 | 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
📍 Wapato Park, Tacoma
- 11:30 AM – Check-in opens, vendors on-site. Check out our Pet Memorial Wall, Pumpkin decorating, and Photo “booth”.
- 12:30 PM – Dog Walk around Wapato Lake
- 1:30 PM – Costume Contest, with prizes in multiple categories!
Take a leisurely lap around the lake with your best-dressed pup, browse local vendor booths, and stick around for the main event: a costume contest that’s sure to bring out everyone’s creative side. Whether your dog is a pint-sized pumpkin or a full-blown witch’s familiar, costumes and creativity are highly encouraged.
This is a laid-back, family-friendly afternoon — leashes required.
Let’s Honor the Pets We’ve Lost to Cancer
This walk is also your opportunity to honor your pet’s memory. 1 in 3 dogs will develop cancer in their lifetime. If you would like to have your pet featured in our Pet Memorial Wall at the Walk, please email a photo and biography to suman@tobyshope.org by October 20.
Every Step Helps a Dog in Need
Hocus Pocus at the Park isn’t just about candy and costumes — it’s a fundraiser with a purpose. Our goal is to raise $5,000 to support two vital Toby’s Hope programs:
- Financial assistance for canine lymphoma treatment, helping families afford life-saving care for their dogs
- Grief counseling, supporting pet parents through the loss of a beloved companion
Every registration makes a real difference — and every walker included gets an event t-shirt to wear proudly.
Form a Team and Raise Even More
Want to make an even bigger impact? Start a fundraising team! Rally your friends, family, coworkers, or fellow dog-park regulars, set a team goal, and see how much you can raise together before the big day. Team fundraising is one of the best ways to multiply your impact — plus it’s more fun to walk with a crew (and more costumes to admire along the way).
